Homework is to do some browsing up on other teams' outreach ideas. The minimum requirement is one per person, but try to get as many ideas as possible. You may use the standard scouting form or make your own. This homework is due next meeting.
D5 Robotics Team 1293 will be presenting at our local cub scout pack meeting Monday, Oct. 20th at Faith Presbyterian Church just past Ballentine. Please come help us load up at the warehouse at 5:00pm. If you can't make it to load up just meet us at the meeting and remember to wear your team shirt for the new team photo! We will only present for about 20 or 30 minutes, then we'll go outside to do our team picture and be available for questions after the meeting is over. I believe the meeting is scheduled from 6:30pm to 8:00 pm. We'll also need some help afterward to get everything back to the warehouse. A map to the event can be found here!
Work has been slow and steady in this preseason push to redesign our team to get ready for 2009. The team is currently working on a new prototype and has a new look for this year. The new website design is almost complete and should come online soon. In the meantime, the team is slated to present at a local cub scout pack meeting and has participated in Leaphart Elementary School's Science Night.
It is the official end to build season! Our robot has been crated and shipped at 6pm last night. We are currently taking a bit of a break but we will meet soon to work on our pit!
We are now in week 3 of the 6 week build season and have designed our robot witch is well on it's way to being built! Come check us out! We have meetings this week Monday-Thursday starting at 6 and on Saturday at 10:30! Hope to see you there!
The light parade on Sunday the 2nd was a big success, thanks to the team members, and our mentors, Mr. Lamon, Mr. and Mrs. Stankovic, and Mr. and Mrs. Carnabuci. I have to say, the float was beautiful from day to night, and it was very impressive to the onlookers. This is a wonderful accomplishment for D5, and it was a good way of interacting with the community. Job well done, everyone!
