Ockham’s Raizor was the name bestowed upon our 2005 robot, which was designed to lift up PVC pipe tetrahedrons onto goals. Ockham’s razor, what the robot was named after, is the idea that "entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily" in an explanation of a natural occurrence—-rather, that the shortest and simplest explanation is typically the most practical. (We added the "I" for a nice pun on raising the tetras.) After Ockham, our team symbol became the now-beloved saw, which was our machining-related version of a razor, and our motto became "The simplest solution is usually the best."
Ockham was disassembled in January 2007 for parts.
